The Bubblyjock Collective are an innovative ensemble dedicated to championing the works of neglected Scottish composers – particularly from the 19th century to the present day. Since their launch in 2024 they have performed across Scotland introducing audiences to the richness of classical and contemporary music written in Scotland, with a particular focus on art-song setting Scots and Gaelic texts, and music relating to Scottish place, history and culture.
The Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra is a large improvising ensemble of around 20 musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds. They perform across the UK and Europe, host an annual festival of improvisation and run regular events.
Duo with Robin Michael
Robin Michael studied at the Royal Academy of Music with David Strange and Colin Carr and later with Ferenc Rados. He is principal cellist in Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique, Solo cellist with Orchestre Les Siecles (Paris) as well as regular guest principal cellist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The Lark Piano Trio formed during their postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where they were mentored by Alison Wells and David Watkin. They have a passion for unearthing the hidden treasures of the piano trio repertoire, with a focus on living composers. The trio won first prize in the prestigious Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition (2024) at the Wigmore Hall.
